Join Androula and Haridas on our yoga retreat in Varkala, Kerala on what we plan to be a powerful, fun and adventurous 7 day retreat. Our retreat will combine the dynamics of vinyasa in the morning (solar practice) with Androula and the traditional Sivananda with Haridas in the evening (lunar practice). We plan to bring about a transformational experience together so that we are all able to find, feel, play, explore, discover new and wonderful experiences and rest. We believe that the combination of the dynamics of the morning will complement the evening practice creating what we hope to be a magical experience.

We have discovered what we think is the best Ayurvedic treatment in Varkala. Aswani is a family- run Ayurvedic centre run by two brothers and their wives. Both Dinesh and Vineesh are Kalari masters with a wealth of knowledge of the body and the marma points.

The accommodation ‘GreenPalace’ again is a family run hotel set within its own grounds overlooking the stunning beach. The Abba Restaurant is set within the grounds of the Green Palace which serves great food and drinks throughout the day/evening.

Born into a traditional Hindu family of Sanskrit scholars in South India he was initiated into Yogic practices at a young age by his scholarly grandfather so yogic sadhana was part of his childhood life. He studied Mechanical Engineering to graduate level and worked as an Engineer for some time. He later turned into the Divine path of Yoga and joined the famous Sivananda Ashram as a voluntary teacher where he spent approximately 3 years with the Sivananda organisation. In 2007 he left Sivananda and started teaching independently.

His classes are well known for their structure and meditative content and he is a master in correcting and adjusting his students. He is also well versed and a scholar in Yogic scriptures such as Pathanjali Yoga Suthras, Hatha Yoga Pradipika etc. Many teachers of yoga from around the globe study with him for continuing education.

My first introduction to yoga was in a little church hall some 20 years ago when I was given on arrival a block, belt and blanket (which at the time I thought quite odd) but these three objects enabled me to feel and move my body to places that I had never felt or moved before. I also learnt how to inhale and exhale and feel my lungs. At the time I had no idea that this form of yoga was Iyengar Yoga but I am happy to say that twenty years later yoga continues to be part of my life. I have since incorporated different styles of yoga into my practice and my style of yoga now is flow which is linking breath and movement with an emphasis on core stability. My classes are fun, energetic with a focus on developing awareness of body, mind and spirit which encourages the student to develop a deeper awareness of their body, mind and spirit bringing about a healthier, lighter and energised feeling.

I started my teaching training with The Life Centre (now Yogacampus) in 2006 and throughout this time I have trained and continue to train and learn from the many inspiring teachers from around the globe. I wish to offer my huge gratitude to all my students both past and present and to all my inspiring yoga teachers who have all enabled me to grow and continue to grow and develop.
